I choreograph teams of different ages, doubles, trios and solo pupils. This involves using all different styles and techniques of dance in which I can accentuate their strengths and improve upon their weaknesses. The freestyle and more modern hip hop style encourages the pupils to be creative and more adventurous in their routines. Whist the slow helps my dancers build upon their strength control and technique, alongside the Commercial Pop Style which brings out their own personality and attitude!
I have been teaching for well over ten years and I have performed myself in all of aspects in the art dance since the age of two. Upon completion of all the Northern Counties graded medals in Freestyle, Ballroom and Latin in my teenage years, I continued to participate, choreograph and teach a whole range of styles throughout the North East & Jersey in solo, doubles and team events.
Prior to setting up my own school, in my student years I performed in and choreographed approximately 30 dancers at summer time “Mardi Gras” shows over a period of three years. Our performances entailed a variety of dance styles to keep our audience of all ages entertained. This led to the choreography of our own students in local pantomimes and shows.
Then progressed on to achieving high grades in the Student Examination governed by the Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association in Freestyle then furthered my qualification in successfully achieving the advanced Highly Commended Pass as an Associated Member and achieving an Honours Certificate as a Licentiate to the Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association.
