I encourage my dancers to take part in dance competitions Because it builds their confidence and provides them with the opportunity to win trophies, wear fabulous costumes and travel the UK.
All dancers attending competitions are registered with the ADFP (Association of Dance and Freestyle Professionals) and compete according to the ADFP rules
At each competition Freestyle, Solos, Pairs and Slow are danced and occasionally Hip Hop, Hip Hop Pairs, and Teams.
Categories are :- Beginner, Starter, Intermediates, Champions.
The competitions we take part in range from the North of England to the Midlands and my dancers support each other enthusiastically at every competition.
Dancing can be a very expensive hobby. If you are attending competitions, you need to consider ticket and travelling expenses, Costumes which can vary greatly in price. Second hand costumes are always available to buy at competitions or you can look at numerous internet sites such as www.dance.net or Ebay.
If you are interested in taking part in competitions, you must attend dance classes regulary, have plenty of energy and great technique. If you are picked for team work, you must attend all team lessons and you must attend all competitions where the team are performing
